"Vacation to a Space Hotel: A Journey Through My Mind"

i had a dream that my friends and i went to a hotel for vacation, but we had to travel on a boat to another planet to get there because the website tricked us by hiding where the actual location of said vacation would be. since we all paid our deposits already, we decided to just go; we were done with our first year of medical school and wanted to celebrate by doing something extravagant. me, chi, maami, des, and grace all packed up our belongings for a week long trip to some planet we didn’t even know the name of, but were prepared to have fun nonetheless. i don’t remember how we got on the boat, but the dream cuts to us relaxing on the boat, walking around and anxiously waiting to arrive. as the boat starts getting further from earth, we begin to wonder how the ship is going to lift off into space and actually leave earth since we’re technically still on the water. that’s when all of a sudden, a thick purple onslaught of fog came around our boat and began to surround us so we couldn’t see into the horizon anymore. the fog swirled around our boat for a few hours, it was really creepy but we tried to ignore it. after the fog began to dissipate, the water around us was RED and there a large hotel beginning to form in the distance. we quickly docked and hopped off the boat, excited to see what was in store for us on this trip. getting off the elevator and walking inside our room, we saw an amazing 5 bedroom suite, with a large kitchen and 3 whole coat racks to ourselves. my brain kinda skipped over the main trip itself, but i do remember cooking dinner with my friends and going out clubbing over the next few days. when our trip unfortunately comes to an end, we are all of a sudden rushing to pack up our stuff and go outside to the boat before it leaves us behind. for some reason, we’re the ones who are in charge of deploying the purple fog that would carry us back home since the boat people who came with us weren’t there anymore. rushing to pack up our belongings, i forget my garage opener in the shower (?) and chi forgot her phone on the table. maami, des, and grace didn’t forget anything but we were all running to the boat since everyone else in the hotel were running to their respective forms of transportation as well. finally getting down the golden thousand-foot steps, the 5 of us get on the boat and begin to prepare the pumps that will expel the purple fog, when chi realizes she left her phone. the others are saying that she should leave it, that she can just buy a new one since we need to leave right now, but she insisted on going back. that’s when i decided to accompany her to make sure we just get in and get out before everyone has left the hotel. our friends agreed, saying that they’ll figure out how to start the pumps and wait for us on the water bank. running back inside and hopping on the elevator back to our room, chi and i burst inside just to see that other people have already moved into our very messy suite. chi quickly grabs her phone and i see my garage opener in the bathroom, we’re about to leave when i realize that we had free coats in the coat rack we never even used, and try to start looking through them to find one to take home. that was my first mistake. sifting through the coats i thought only took me 2 minutes because after grabbing two and shoving them in my backpack, people were still running out of the hotel, making me think we didn’t take too long inside. going back down the elevator, we ran into michael, a guy i know from middle school who used to bully me, and he asked us if he could catch a ride back with us to campus since we now go to the same medical school. i didn’t realize he went to the same school as us, but we said yes since it wasn’t a big deal to have one more passenger. traveling down the escalator to the main floor, we see a kiosk full of candy at a small store called “cafe kiosk” or something like that, and one girl in front of us gets on the floor escalator saying she’s going to cafe kiosk. we, confused as hell, tell her it’s on the floor that she just walked away from, just for her to look back sheepishly and immediately step off. we tried not to think too much about it, but we thought that was really really weird since the sign is in big glowing letters and can be really hard to miss. still moving down the escalator, she asks the attendant if the candy is free and if she could just have one. to which the attendant says yes it’s free and that the candy is included with your vacation plan. my big ass made mistake number 2, asking the girl to throw me two paydays and a snickers for chi and michael. while she’s throwing the candy, the attendant starts getting angry, saying that anyone who gets candy without getting it themselves will be recorded and dealt with. i brushed that warning off because i figured that since we were leaving, what could they possibly do? still moving down the freaking escalator, rudel from middle school appears out of nowhere and throws mad candy into my backpack, which i was grateful for at the time. leaving the building with jackets and candy stuffed in my backpack, the three of us start running to the boat to catch up with our friends to start heading home. getting to the shore, we realize the boat isn’t there anymore and a lot of people are beginning to drive/row away. i thought i saw the boat further down the stream and began to run to it, just to realize it was a bunch of strangers. chi, michael, and i are really confused, and start walking back to the hotel to see if we could call our friends to come back. while walking back, some dinosaur emerges from the sky and begins to eat people who are waiting on the shore for a boat ride back home. the three of us try to run away, but we all got trapped in its mouth. when we broke free, chi and i were turned into birds and michael became a bee. trying to fly away now, these infected boars or something came out of nowhere and started to chase us. trying to fight back, chi and michael both got poisoned and weren’t able to run away anymore, leaving me alone. i turned back into a human, don’t know why or how, and began walking up and down the street trying to find someone who would be willing to drive me and my incapacitated friends back home. chi and michael were gently placed in my backpack, so they could heal while i look for a way back home. i ran into some police officer guy who showed me a house with the names carly, freddy, and sam carved into the side. he told me that he had been here for 40 years, and that he saw my friends rowing away on our boat after hours went by and me and chi since hadn’t emerged from the building. that threw me for a loop because we hadn’t spent more than 10 minutes inside, but he said that time moves differently inside the hotel than outside. going inside the icarly house, i saw kids sitting watching tv. they looked quite similar to the cast of icarly, and it scared me to think that the same thing that happened to us had happened to their parents as well, being forced to live in this ghostly town for the rest of their lives. i went upstairs in the house with the police officer, when he showed me a random pool in the middle of the floor. for some reason, he jumped in, saying that the water was really nice. he got out when one of the kids called us back downstairs. i went back outside and ran into chi and michael! they somehow were healed by the water upstairs, and we began to run back to the hotel to see if we could get a signal to call our friends. i didn’t want to tell them that our friends are 40 years gone because it would crush them, so we continued running back to the hotel. on our way back, the police officer said he left something back at the icarly house, but didn’t want to go alone. mistake number 3. i said that chi and michael should go ahead, that i’ll quickly walk with him back to the house and catch up with them. walking back to the house, the police officer starts saying really weird things like, “this is just the beginning” and that “i should’ve known better”, which started to freak me out. arriving at the house, he said to go upstairs again to the dirty pool, which i refused to do. i didn’t want to go inside the house because it looked like it wasn’t real. the walls were faded away into nothingness and the kids were gone, leaving this dilapidated building behind. the police officer began to get firm with me, saying i must go upstairs if i ever want to find out what truly happened. i muster up the courage and go inside, just to turn around and see that the police officer is gone. turning forward again, the house had dissolved into a singular door, the rest of the world melted away. feeling really scared, i go to open the door and walked inside. i found myself staring down a long hallway, with several offices lining both sides. i kept walking down the hall to the door at the very end. i was going to turn left and keep going until a familiar voice called out to me. scared, i pushed the door open just to see spencer from criminal minds sitting at a desk filled with case papers and handwritten profiles. he told me to sit down and explain what happened. i didn’t know how he knew about the journey id just been on, but i recounted what i could. that’s when he told me that i had been a mental patient in their facility for almost 5 years now, and that the journey i had just been on was completely fabricated by my own psyche. he told me that the police officer i started talking to had died when he got into the dirty pool because it was filled with nanoparticles that stop you from being able to utilize oxygen. meaning, that chi and michael coming back, walking back to the house with him, was all made up in my mind. i didn’t get into the pool with him out of fear, but i didn’t realize that that actually saved my “mind’s life”. then gideon from criminal minds came into spencer’s office and asked him how he knew about the police officer dying after getting into the pool, which i didn’t realize was weird until he said it. spencer began to look scared because he realized that he had the same condition as me because he had been able to see exactly what i was talking about since he had lived the same nightmare in his mind too. gideon starts yelling for hotch, saying that spencer needs his meds again and started dragging him out of the office. the whole ordeal was really scary, and when everything settled, gideon sat down and told me that everything would be okay. he stared at me with such conviction that i almost believed him. that’s when i woke up.
